Residents,
Village of Port Byron
Rapid City Fire Protection District

Greetings,

During Fire Prevention Week, we contact the residents of the area that we serve and ask them to lend us a hand. As you may not be aware of, Municipal budgets don't always go as far as we would like them to and some things are unattainable.

This is the Port Byron Firefighters Association's time to ask the people that we serve to support us with a donation. When help is needed, usually the Fire Department is called. This time, the Firefighters are asking you for help.

Whatever donation you should care to send will help finalize our goal of purchasing a breathing air compressor to refill our air packs.

Our Association also raises funds for other uses including, but not limited to:

Purchases of other Tools, Equipment and Training not funded by tax dollars, Student Scholarships, Fire Safety Programs and Sponsorship of area Youth Programs.

Any amount that you can donate will be greatly appreciated and put to good use.
100% of all donations go to our Association and are Tax Deductible Contributions.

We understand that there are those who cannot make a donation, and we want you to know, this will in no way affect any response to your emergency.

When making a donation, please make checks payable to Port Byron Firefighters Association.

In closing, thank you for reading this letter and considering a donation, and don't forget to check those Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detector batteries!

Sincerely,
Steven Slininger
President
Port Byron Volunteer Firefighters Association

PS: We realize that last year some donation checks were extremely slow in being cashed. We would like to take this time to apologize and let you know that we have reorganized our procedures to help eliminate this problem.
